Horizontal Bender

Having a real nightmare here. Trying to source a horizontal bender, something similar to below - bends heavy flat bar/plates etc. Almost no used machines around, and those dealers that have them advertised sold them years ago, but the companies that advertise them on line never take the listings down, annoying them as much as me.
Thought i'd have a look at new machines...the ones below seem a good machine but no one is importing them, even the reputable machine dealers are offering such junk, and at daft prices. They freely admit they are not going to last long but say 'better than nowt'. Not really going to convince me to buy!
I went to have a look at one machine... a 'Sunrise' one - wasn't too far away, and was in the area so went to see it. 12 grand they wanted, total tinny junk.

What's up with the country! Are people just not buying machine tools and fab kit anymore?

Anyway, anyone know where to look/seen one advertised? I'm trawling all the machine auction sites but no joy yet.

I was in a similar position about 15 years ago, the only commercial one I could find that was any cop was made in Turkey by Ercolina? And it was out of my price range.
In the end I made one with a hydraulic ram from a shear grab, completely over engineered but it worked a treat. One of my pals who has a workshop in Bristol kept badgering for me to make him one so when I moved workshops I sold it to him.
I can get him to take some pictures if you want but it was fairly straight forward in design, although I don't suppose you could build one yourself if you have employees?

Yeah, Ercolina is good, we have a ring roller and a tube bender made by them. They don't make these though. Ercolina are Italian IIRC. Even Ercolina machines are thin on the ground now - replaced by shiny plasticy junk.

We have employees, so yeah, there's the insurance aspect to it. (and no time!)

I rang him on Monday and it did sell. I must admit i saw it a few weeks ago (Didn't need one then) Kicking myself for not getting it now!

Don't know if its what your looking for but the company might be worth a ring. Gillen machinery in Antrim sell a lot of this stuff too

Have you got a job for one Paul or just want one.

At first look I wondered how they would be any better than a brake press but you would be able to bend bar to a full hexagon or similar shape without hitting the tooling.

Have a job for one. We have done bits in the pressbrake, but its not the right tool for doing it. It throws the press out after a while and i've just spent 2k on new tooling and setting it up.

Aye it will balls up press brake tooling "point loading", I will have a word tomorrow with my local machine dealer and see what he's got.

JD2 do a horizontal bender not sure if it's any good for you and not sure if anyone imports them but the tube benders are imported into the UK so cannot see it being a problem if the machine and price are OK for you

Where are they made then? Can you not import them yourself or employ a shipping agent to do it for you?

180 x 15mm flat. Feeling strong?
