I know @Maker tends to be interested in this sort of stuff

I presume it's for production use for pilot and final drilling, looks like the table can slide to allow it to move from one drill to the next. Would be tempted to put a bid on since I'm after a pillar drill but as is always the way it's a bit further than I want to go really

It's one side of Devon and I'm the other, its not an enormous distance but about a 3 hour round trip normally, then add on the fact it'd be in an old land rover and since I'm not desperate I'm after something a little closer

The quill feeds are independent, so it wouldn't be just for drilling two holes 12" apart.

Why not? if the part being drilled was in a jig, this was once common practice.

It's possible it was, but I think its much more likely it was used one spindle at a time, simply to reduce the number of tool changes.

I don't recon you missed a mega bargain to be honest. Especially as you'd need to pay a good bit to transport.

We use these at work to greatly increase the speed of drilling and tapping. Takes some getting used to though haha!
