I'd concentrate primarily on your spelling, grammar etc. Kent. The website as such is perfectly functional, but crappy spelling and such hits like a hot needle in the eye when you're advertising your services. Perfectionism, from the customers viewpoint, (I'm assuming that your likely target audience is middle class upwards, so they'll pick up on anything and everything), should apply to your website as well as your work. Simple things like Lancashire having a lowercase L, for example, all tally up to make it look like the site may be just a second thought type affair.

In reality, spelling and grammar skills make sod all difference to a persons abilities when it comes to doing their work, but people are picky, and if we're noting things when just briefly scanning the site, you can assume that customers will likely be paying slightly more attention to specifics than we are.

With regards the sites layout, design etc., the basics are fine. Just tweak that as you go. The initial setup is always going to be a compromise. Designers usually have a flair for design and a crap eye for clean, precise code, whereas coders tend to be clinical in approach but largely have little or no flair for design, so you'll rarely see perfection straight off the bat unless you throw money at it, (not always a good indicator of quality work anyhow), else manage to find a coder who encompasses both disciplines well, (they're a rarity rather than the rule).

Might I point out that while cannot spell (through the way my brain is wired, Dyslexia is as much of an advantage as dis-advantage) I do now how to put things into words and have been published many times

Nope, 'a'. 'An' is generally accepted as being permissible before a 'h' in some cases such as this one, simply because most pronounce hourly as 'ourly, with a silent 'h', but it's still not technically correctly. 'An' before vowels and 'a' before consonants.
