Aldi Tape measures

as per title Aldi have 25ft tape measures in, seem solid bits of kit the tape is 38mm wide !! rubber protected body, 3rivets on the end piece ( with magnets ) but the nice thing is on the inches side it states 1/8 -1/4 -3/8 - 1/2 etc so no having to count divisions to see ( with ageing eyes ) the exact size.
I have extended it out to 3M at about 15deg without it bending.
the only bad thing in my opinion is mm scale is in cm- not M or mm.
but for £6.99 excellent.

I bought one of these a while back. I dont like it simply becuse the magnet attract metal filings. I am constantly cleaning the end before measuring. All that being said, it is very accurate minus the swarf.

Yeah I have had problems with that, on another one. I just put a little tape on the end coz the magnets are handy when on your own.

When measured up against an engineers 1 metre steel rule, it was spot on. That is accurate enough for me, for general fabrications.

very good tapes these for on site as they extend a good distance without sagging...just dont put them into a nail bag on your hip or everytime it comes out it has a dozen nails stuck to it

They are reduced in my local Aldi. I think to £3.99. Nearly bought one on Saturday. Might have another look during the week. The fractions caught my eye too.
