Part of the factory is still there in Kelvin Way West Brom 40+ years on.

If you were going quicker would do 360 and end up correct way.

I used to go there in the 80's, a blokes who seemed to be in charge of the place[Ian?], collected yank Chryslers and we bought,
sold and swapped mopar parts with him. He gave me money for the original parts no one else wanted! Got a full tour of the place
every time.

Lovely vehicles, although I think the interceptor was the worst handling car I've ever driven, the slightest sniff of the loud pedal on a corner and you face he way you came

One of my dad's more eccentric customers in the 1970s was the patron saint of old wrecks; he turned up one day with a black Jensen 541R that ended up taking residence whilst dad tried valiantly to stop any more of the chassis rusting away. I seem to think that was a 4L engine from an old Austin? and a Rolls-Royce auto gearbox, but then it was 40 years ago.
I'm fairly sure that the car was only ever patched-up to get it running so the guy could pose around town in it and not long after he turned up in a Chevy Corvette Stingray which was another heap of junk. I think dad fobbed him off with excuses just to stop having to deal with the idiot.

Paul, are you aware of the Volzone deal with BOC for Y size Argoshield and Argon? Works out a lot cheaper.

Mike, I'll look it up. I've just spent the day at Lewis repairing the area of the inner wing around the fuel filler. I did it all with oxy acetylene because I took my time and my patches fitted so well I knew I'd be able to weld them in with minimal filler rod. I do enjoy OA welding, must have a go at tig though. Hope you're well. ps I'm not one of those FF owners who resents his gentleman's carriage being referred to as an Interceptor FF!

Hi, the 541R did indeed have the Austin 4 litre 6 pot and 3 speed box out of the Austin Princess the engine was also used in Austin trucks, the Jensen one had triple carbs. The 541S had the same engine but with the 4 speed Rolls Royce box.

Keep up the good work! I am following this with interest - Jensens are amongst my favourite cars and I don't know much about the FF.

I fitted a Holly injection kit to a Interceptor 7.2 litre. fuel consumption improved from around 8 mpg to 14mpg, no other changes made at that time. Made it a lot more driveable.
