Bahco tools

Needed a new stubby screwdriver, I have quite a few Bahco tools that I have been happy with, mid range, so bought a Bahco stubby on line. Came today, Says France made in Taiwan on the box. Seems like Taiwan has joined the EU lol.

I am on my second set of bacho screwdrivers. They will be the last. My first set were actually irazola and must of lasted me 10 years before wear started to effect there performance. This second set are practically new and the pozi's are so soft the ends are worn from a couple days hard use building a kids tree house. Bacho ain't what they used to be IMO.

I got some screw pitch gauges from the far east via ebay......and it was stamped "made in germany" on them

The last Bahco tools I bought was a couple of years back 'T' handled allen keys, they are excellent.

I got a set of king dick screwdrivers for Xmas. Excellent quality and British made. Its a pity their tool catalogue isn't a bit bigger but I always try them first now

This is good to hear actually. Perhaps I got a duff set or maybe Only the screwdrivers have had a down grade. The old irazolas were ten times better. I've got a bacho adjustable that's very good

I got some Wiha screw drivers for christmas, really nice to use and decent quality, made in Germany. I got the engineering ones which you can smack the top with a hammer and have a hex for getting more leverage with a spanner

I have a Bahco 24" adjustable spanner, you can lean on that adjustable and it stands up to the abuse. I was put onto them by our hydraulic fitters who come out to us.

They always have been top notch adjustable spanners hence they are the market leaders in the adjustable spanner world.

Bahco invented the adjustable spanner. I have one given to me by a pit fitter years ago and it has stood some abuse. I have a Bahco set which are brilliant 6 point sockets and they were made in Sweden. Apparently they could come from a variety of countries but the quality should still be the same.

Did Bahco use to be called Irazola? I think I've got a 10" adjustable made by them.

Edit; My 10" adjustable is made by Irega, ever heard of them? It feels the same quality as my smaller Bahco.

the thing is they may be made in china but to who s specification and quality control .they churn out rubbish for peanuts that most people want and wouldnt know good quality if it hit them in the face .or they can produce good quality components to a high standard and the price per item reflects on that

yep i agree..look at snap-on these days,most stuff made in china but quality control by snap-on

The thing is, when you buy something from Snap on you know it might well be the same quality tool available under a different name elsewhere for half the cost. However, you can be quite confident that there won't be anything better out there and you don't need to do the research and trial and error finding the quality item - you just pay extra and know it'll be good.

I think it's all about the customer service; lifetime warranty and that most garages have a Snap on van every so often.

I have 4 different size bacho adjustable spanners I have had them for over 20 years made very well and used to the max still going strong..
