Big Tank

hey folks can anyone point me in the direction of where I can get a large cylindrical tank say about 600mm diamter and about 1.2 m long. Alternatively a pipe of approximately similar dimension and some metal to make some ends.

Need this for a project I'm designing

I was looking for a similar sized piece of pipe a few weeks ago - 100+ for cardboard. 800+ for plastic. 1.2K + for steel (8mm tho)

hmmm. There's a cylindrical-ish tank on HGVs. not sure what it's for? Might be worth finding a commercial vehicle breaker?

This is what I want to make. I have 6mm plate to make the square fire box on the side. It's all cut and ready to be welded up. Cylinder has to be reasonably thick to hold in heat.

Whole contraption is call an offset reverse flow smoker

Yes very good, I use it to throw at the lambs in the field next door

When I'm not thinking about lamb it's used to chop wood, I never use charcoal in bbq, always embers from logs

Hot water expansion vessel from a commercial install maybe... They are available up to a couple of metres high, are reasonably strong (pressure vessel after all) and are replaced when the rubber diaphragm fails. I've got one lined up for my next forge project. (But sadly my source has dried)....
