Has anyone used the metpost long spikes that you knock into the ground and the fence post slides in nice and snug. Well I used them a few months ago to put the garden fence up with. All was good, however a few months later all the posts are wobbly. It's not the spikes loose in the ground but the part of the spike that the post slots into has sort of opened up. The slightest breeze makes them move. Instead of my fence being nice and straight its all over the place.
Problem is I cannot think of a solution. The posts are now to small to concrete and don't want to bye new posts unless I have too. All I can think of doing is digging around them slightly. Drill through spike bit the post slots into and the post then bolt it tight with some threaded bar and repair washers on each end. Do this to the side as you look at the fence not along the fence. Does anyone follow. Stuck for ideas to be honest. Costly mistake and it's really annoying and embarrassing.
