In the course of opening my account with BOC I spoke to Stuart Anderson, he wants everyone to know about BOC and as long as you are a hobby welder then you can sign up to the Volksdeal. If anyone is interested his contact details are below.
I emailed him, he emailed me straight back with a ref number, someone from accounts called me then emailed me a form which I sent back, and then the account was opened, took two days and was painless.

Thinking of going with BOC for an Argonshield but any ideas how much a Y bottle of co2 is please.

Size Y Co2 not listed on the 2013 price list I have to hand, only shows VB/LB and the large VK/LK sizes. Smaller VB/LB bottle is listed as £71.65 per year or £6.45 per month rental, £11.89 per fill, 69p environment & energy charge and £14.40 collection or £51.30 delivery charges. All 2013 prices + Vat so a small Co2 collected would have been £118.36 for the bottle and a years rental, a refill would have been £32.38.

Sadly CO2 and Oxygen aren't available at discounted prices, and from what I've discussed with Stuart via email, I wouldn't hold out on there being any other discounted items apart from the Argoshield and Argon.
Other than that, current prices are;
Argoshield Light size Y is £26.50 gas price, surcharge 1.36p, rental £38.70 per year
Pureshield Argon size Y is £32.44 gas price, surcharge 1.36p, rental £55.90 per year
All prices exclude VAT

It's a good deal, just phone the head office (the local outlets often don't seem aware of the offer), get the paperwork sorted and collect.

They now need your name, address and phone number before they will do much, as BOC now perform a credit check before opening your account.

He took a contact number for me and accounts rang me back about 30 minutes later, they took some details and then emailed me a PDF to sign and email back which I did and this morning I got an account number ready to go and collect my gas.
Argoshield £27.86 and yearly rental of £38 for a 20L bottle filled to 230 bar.
You need to add vat to the prices.
