We have posted about the tools we hate/diss like to use for reasons being....how about the tools we do like to use that bring a positive smile to are faces and that make our working lifes some what more enjoyable..and to post about the tools we would dearly love

I will start by saying..i do love to use my little oerlikon 130 arc inverter...so easy to use..lightweight..powerful...scratch start tig....my wish list is so long....

This will be a very, very long thread.

I would like a time machine.

Firstly, to enable me to actually fit more hours into the day, thereby facilitating the resurrection of the many projects which are hiding in the garage and shed.
Secondly, so that all the bollinks that I have dropped can be easily erased, and therefore made again....... but less badly.

Like you Spencer 427, I suppose the welder, IFL 170. I have done wood and plastic fabricating for many years and only started metal sticking a couple of years ago, and am still amazed at how 'easy' it is to get big bits to stick together immediately and strongly. I am still rubbish at it most of the time though.

The main tool I could not do without, which some may agree with, is a brain which, although retaining all manner of superfluous crud like 'How oxbow lakes form' can with the right training remember how to develop a cone, work out the best way to cut a sheet to get all those pesky panels out.....and still remember the soggy stuff like Mams' birthday.

Cordless sds as I got it for nearly nothin because the lad that had it broke the charger lucky for me
probly me thermal arc as it makes me the most money

my R-TECH 135 inverter, brilliant little plant and very capable despite its size, oh and it runs a treat from my 5.5Kva genny.

wish list would be the R-TECH Tig210EXT

Tools I love:
Radial Arm Saw. Elu MOF177 Router. My Wadkin table saw. My van.

All four because they just sit there, waiting to be called into action. And when they are called, perform perfectly and without drama. EVERY time.

Wish list: that I could say the same for some of my other tools...

Tools I love are all my cousins Snap-On stuff he's storing in our garage, especially the ratchet screwdriver, the picks, the 1/4" ratchet and the really long 3/8" ratchet.
Wishlist however, that's a list longer than I care to mention but top of the list (Other than a working mill) is either a metal lathe or a plasma cutter. With those I like to think I could make *almost* every other tool I want.

It would be cool to have a nice big stationary engine running a line shaft powering every tool

Favourite tools are my back-from-the-dead plasma cutter, my pillar drill and my pair of go-anywhere makita cordless drill/drivers.

Wishlist; a decent (quiet) compressor.
Ultimate wishlist; a lathe and a mill

I love my facom socket sets and ratchet spanners, though my halfords flex head ratchet spanners come close. When I did a fair bit of mechanical stuff I really appreciated a sparky 1/2 inch cordless impact wrench for whizzing off inspection plate bolts.

My fluke 187 multimeter is also a joy to use, really solidly put together and measures just about everything I need with more accuracy than I will ever need.

My rtech multi process welder of course is great as well - 3 welders in one box, what's not to like!

Wish list would be lathe, milling machine, ac tig set, plasma cutter. Would also like a fluke processmeter for work stuff.

How did I forget my Fluke, it was one of the first tools I ever got, it's an old autoranging one given to me when I was 6 from a guy my dad works with called Mr Christmas (Seriously, how cool is that). I'd love to it upgrade to a Fluke 233, mainly for the ability to measure capacitance. Ahh, as it's only a wishlist, I'll have a 190 scopemeter.

Good stuff chaps...my top wish list Prezzie to my self is an orelikon citomig 200 mp...that I will be working my nuts off for the next few months...but like most of us the time we paid all the bills and sometimes left with little..its a good ol wish list that keeps me going no matter how long it takes...

I feel a bit guilty here...I have most of whats on some of your wish lists. Colchester master 2500, R-tech Tig 201, R-tech Mig 180 and R-tech Plasma P50HF But I do hanker after a Milling machine.. I did have a 12 inch band saw to use but my mates had it back

Top of my wish list however would be a magic wand that would tidy and sort my garage for me....lol

Guilty here as I have two lathe a mill plasma tig tig mig 3 bandsaws linishers x2 and much much more.............er this seems like a gloat

I just need a metric day, a garage with 6 elastic sides and Saturdays lottery numbers so I don't have to go work, cos that gets in the way of what you want to do

To be replaced by something bigger we can never have enough machinery...to much is never enough....half the battle is the room to put it all...

My clifton and lie nielsen hand planes are lovely to use. My portamig I like a lot, after using the Warco mill my Tom Senior vertical is very nice. The rapidor always makes me smile when I use it. I'm still not totally happy with my chipmaster although much improved, so a more recent, slightly larger less worn lathe with a DRO would be nice. A magic switch that kept my tools free of condensation at zero cost would be near the top of my wish list.

And above all else, as many others had said, time. Never enough time.

My most usefull tools are me hands without them all the stuff my head tells me to make would go unmade!
I too love my cordless kit and my welder! And my lathe! Er and pillar drill, actually just every bit of kit I have really they are all sooo usefull! Would love a milling machine but would need a bigger and taller workshop!
