I have the chance if a Tiny Tim charging set
This came out of a tank
30 amps 12 volt charge rate
Side valve engine
Any one played with one

Hi, I had one for quite a while,Eventually sold it to a chap down south. Aways ultra reliable, never ever had to do anything to it. Just clip it onto a 12v battery,press the red button and any life in the battery self starts the genny and immediately starts to charge at up to 30 amps. sorry i don't have any more info.

might be worth a punt at the right price and rewind yourself, cant imagine it being complex at that age

I've got the earlier version, a "chore horse" generator, that puts out 25Amp max at 12volts. Cracking bit of kit, dead basic, nowt much to go wrong with them, I don't know if the Tiny Tim is the same but the regulator dial must be set to max output when starting from a battery or it will turn over too slow to start.

If you plan on using it you might want to fit a better exhaust, it's a tad noisy or get the extension pipe that you bury in the ground to muffle it

It's not like an old car generator is it, where you had to 'flash' the windings to get some initial magnetism in, before the thing would start to produce output? Also affects some petrol gennies if let stood idle for a good while...

It has stood for 30 years
He had it running & charging
Just stopped charging
The Lad knows his stuff

Just realised i had a couple of photographs of the one that i had, I always had known it as " Tiny Tim" or is it a generic maker? Petrol tank is in the base plate.

Ooh ! That looks very familiar, same type as mine except yours is in better condition than mine.

Why should it be expected to do anything but charge batteries etc?, A function it does really well and will continue to do so for a long time. A stand alone truly portable source of power.

u could use an inverter on it and get 240v out of it if wanted
