This is all genuine
Any one opend a account with them to collect funds

why do you need an account to collect money?

Whoever has sent the money could have paid directly into your account, in any denomination at all.

You don't need to open an account with a different bank to transfer funds from it, don't enter any details to the link. Type it in manually and see where it goes if you must. Check out their website for any information on current known scams

please dont click on any links youve been sent /emailed , google and find the website instead

at one time bank of america was twinned /linked somehow with barclays , so could also look into that , id imagine youd need to be a u.s resisdent to open an account , be extra extra carefull about giving out any personal details on websites

If genuine go to your own bank for advise how to get access to the funds via them directly rather than you trying to do on line and it possibly being a plishing attempt for your details

A donation from a youtube viewer
The bloke that is sending it is going to do it via paypal
No way would I be sharing my bank details
It all seemed very complicated to me

If he's sending it via paypal then once he's transferred it to your paypal account you simply have to transfer it into whatever bank account you have linked to your paypal account.
Or am I missing something?
No idea how Bank of America comes into it.

Edit: All you need to give him is the email address you have linked to your Paypal account.

Paypal, easy give him your paypal user name, he then trf money using his paypal avvount, you want it as a gift. Then you either spend it using paypal to buy goods, or you take it out of your paypal account by Trf to the account you have already linked your paypal account to, sender needs no more details other than your paypal account user name,

no passwords, no bank sort codes, no bank names, no account names, no account numbers. Not even your name.
