Another very annoying aspect is, they won't be nicking it for themselves but selling it for pennies compered with new prices.

We've had a Bosch for years and it's been pretty good.
The only thing that's gone wrong with it was a failed main pump seal after a few years which allowed water to leak out through the motor bearing so I had to replace the seals and the bearing, not too much of a job and very cheap.
The only issue now is since then it doesn't shut off when the sequence is finished, the drain pump stays running until we press the power button.
Something must have happened when I upended the machine to repair it but I've no idea what.

We have a Beko....very quiet, very quick..reasonably cheap too. Also have Beko fridge and Beko freezer...no complaints. Got a Samsung direct drive washer drier of EBAY..brand new but half price..fantabulous...does a wash in 15 minutes!

We had a very expensive Bosch dishwasher that was great it had lots of programmes and flashing lights. At 5 years old it cost me £90 for a Bosch engineer to tell me it was beyond economic repair. We now have a Beko that cost a third of the price and does the dishes equally as well, not as many programmes or flashing lights though.

I think we'd probably have been told the same if we'd got an engineer out as he would most likely have changed the entire motor/pump assembly but I think the seal kit cost me around £25 and two bearings about £7.

While in theory they are a good idea, it solely relies on a human to fill, start and empty it....
In reality if it's not emptied, then the new dirty pots get put on the side
Big stuff still gets washed in the sink, and small amounts still get hand washed. So there is still pots on the side.
And most people rinse the dirty dishes under the tap, before loading as they don't get all the food off
They are put on when you are in the house, so you have to listen to the damn thing. And you never have the 'mug' you like to use, or the pot you need, so you still end up washing the thing by hand.
And and..not to mention the cost of running one.
And I'll have to buy the bloody thing, because HID complains about washing up, why do I have to buy it

My dish washer has just left home.
The other one is 18 and has not got a clue.
I agree with Shox Dr, I have see lot of spats in friends places about who empties the dishwasher, just get them done in the sink.

The very best Dishwashers and washing Machines are made by Meila. Some of the worst are made by Indish*t. Neff, bosh, seimens are all the same company (hitting different markets and budgets) but Neff have become Naff bosh are just ok as non integrated and seimens are the best in their range.
Most goods like this have been ruined by internet sellers wanting cheaper and the manufacturers dancing to the tune played but I heartily recommend the first name - 100% Dear but worth it!

Ah see- I'm a casual user-I sort of wash up as I go, but once every coupla months I bung stuff in the DW to get it mint clean -specially glasses. At my previous abode I had 2- clean got taken out n used then put in DW2 which got spun up when full and became source of clean kit and so on.
The one I have now I just bung it on when I leave for a rally or day out.
When I had a wife I solved the washing up problem by handing all the crockery and KFS etc into the local charity shop, then I bought disposable plates, cups and cutlery, when she moaned about that I bought 1 plate, 1 mug, 1 KFS each and washed mine up after each meal/brew-sorted.
