right. when going for mot test, am I right in thinking if a petrol car was fitted with a cat as new, it needs to be there for the mot and not having one is an instant fail?
or is it after a certain date that it is required?
basically the guy with the escort I am welding tomorrow has asked about a de-cat pipe being made out of the scrap fiesta exhaust I have in the garden.
I don't mind doing the work if he is paying, but I cant see the point in putting de-cat pipe on if he wants to sort the rest of the car out for the mot if its just going to fail cos of the cat. and its not as if he can put the cat back on as he is proposing I just cut the cat off and weld some pipe in place of it
