legs aren't extended properly on the left, that'll collapse mid cut

I'd use some sort of clamp to fix the work piece to the bench, resting your foot on it at that height will be uncomfortable and impractical and the discomfort will probably have an impact on the accuracy of the cut.

I assume it works on the same principles as chainsaw trousers, if the blade goes too far the fabric will clog the blade causing it to stop safely?
