Tube bender where to buy what do you have

Im looking for a Tube bender for roll cage Tube.they dont seem to be very expensive but the dies are very expensive i need 25mm and 45mm dies.where is the best place to buy? what do you all have and use?would buy used if anyone has one thanks

Where in the UK are you ? I'm near Swansea ..I have a 12 ton hydraulic jack type bender from Machine Mart with various sized dies I've finished with it. It has only been used to bend eight bends in 1 & 1/2 ally tube with a 1/4 wall , cost just over £ 100 nine weeks ago . Weight approx 35 Kg

Have a look on machine mart for imperial sizes of the 12 tonne one. I''m not going out the garage it's too dark and damp .
I've just had me cocoa and am off to bed with a curvy blond .

What spec of tube are you looking to bend?
Seamed, cds, chromemoly, t45???

It'll make a big difference on what machine you'll need, i've tube bent all of the above for roll cages.

Depends what discipline you're doing but you'll probably find that unless you pack the tubes with sand or similar and of the cheap compression benders will deform CDS and T45 far too much to be acceptable for MSA events.
You need a rotary draw type really.

Ok, you'll need a rotary type bender, a bit similar to a copper tube bender that pulls the tube around a former with a guide that runs around the outside,
The type that pushes a hydraulic ram in the centre of the former with a die either side will only do the softer seamed chs type tube, all other types of tube will collapse in the bend area,

Unfortunately tube bending and cheap dont mix,
You'll need something similar to the JD squared or Stakesys machines to do cds or t45,

I use this one on cds and other seamless tubes.

Its not sold anymore, its a Hilmor rotary hydraulic no3, so used is the only option on these,
Also sold under the name Anglia power bend,

Last new price i knew was 2.5k and you dont get any formers either,
you can easily spend the same again for a full set of formers.

I'm currently agonising over whether to treat myself to an "Affordable Bender" from the US. There's a deal on ebay for it with a full set of dies (that works out around £600 at the current exchange rate - that's including customs and shipping (or so it says).

What's got me umming and ahhing is that I'd want to bend exhaust pipe too to make it pay for itself which means a mandrel realistically. I was thinking I could add a second frame similar to the standard one sticking out at right-angles with a bar attached in the middle to hold a mandrel. But I'd also want tighter radius bends as the standard dies are 7" CLR and on exhaust pipe I'd want to go up to 2". I think it would be a good basis and lend itself to doing what I want with the additions I'm thinking of but it's all extra stuff I'd have to make or buy with no 100% guarantee it'll ever do just what I want.......

I just need to see a dip in the dollar's value to persuade me.

Wonder if they would do a deal on a few? It's far cheaper than the JMR/JD Squared/WNS or equivalent for a device that on paper will do a similar job. I've even thought of buying a few and then selling them on with a small markup to pay part towards mine.
