We've got cameras at work. And I look after them.
We got done 3 times in 4 months. Gave the police over 3 hours of film of the scum walking around in the yard and carry my alloy wheels around etc etc.
Nothing.
It's essentially a pointless exercise. Had perfect head shots of them while they used a pole to shake the Halogen flood lamp so the filament would break.
Nothing..

I think I'd be getting the best face shots I could of these pond life and sticking them on every lamp post in the area and maybe through all the letterboxes as a wanted poster "Do you know this scumbag?" Add a reference to a crime number and the number of the station dealing with it. If it's just a case of trespass maybe a throwaway email address you can monitor and a comment like "I'd like to discuss their activities on my property". Nothing that actually identifies who you are (and maybe as little background as possible in the picture to save the pond life identifying the source).

In the case of the younger ones it might prompt parents to take an interest in what their little darlings are doing if there is the potential for embarassment in front of the neighbours ("what's your kid been up to to prompt those leaflets?"). Even if the parents don't actually report them they might have annoyed neighbours who will happily point the finger. In the case of the older ones it'll hopefully make them more wary and if there are local people that do recognise them then they might be under closer scrutiny for a while at least. At best it might get some action from plod if they get people calling them with names to go with the faces.

Obviously if they aren't local then it's not likely to affect them.

Trespass isn't a police matter.
It's a civil matter.
You have to ask them to leave which they can do. If they don't then you can call the police and they can ask them to leave. It then can become a police matter.
But about all you can do is file a restraining order against the trepassers. Once you have that. you can then get the, arrested for breaching the restraining order.

Absolute joke.

The Sergant dealing with the repeated breakins did say, once he found out that I am a shotgun license holder, that you can't argue self defence if you shoot them in the back as they were leaving and you were no longer fearing for your personal safety..

No shooting someone in the back indicates they were trying to leave, walking away from trouble, no one can harm you walking in the opposite direction hence you cant claim self defence

its a shame mate nxt door got done and they had time to boil the brewer and melt all decals of his van and load it with his gear and scarper. turned out coppers knew who dun it but was local gypsy ****....s and wont do **** This is the world we live in! All we can do is hide it an bolt it down!!!

don't have one, they take what they like when they like with no consequences, wrecked the front entry door, internal door, workshop door, took the safe and some tools, quite a while ago now, but they came back just to check for another safe, police came took finger prints, foot prints oh yeah ripped the alarm off the wall internal and external, took me 5 mins to get there after call from alarm no one to be seen 5 workshops done 4 without alarms, and as usual no one caught
