BOC and Volkszone - Gas Offer

If you look in the shielding gas section there is a topic about trying to get a volkszone type offer for argon.

As far as I am aware it is for any welding gas but not sure about the size mine is Y sized.

BOC another question about the deal

Morning all just a very quick couple of questions please...

1. Is this £75 for the first year?

2. What happens after the first year?

3. How long do you have to hire it for?

4. What size/litre are the bottles for that money?

The deal is

Argoshield Light size Y. Part number 24-Y
Gas price: £24.51 + VAT
Environment and Energy surcharge: £1.92 + VAT
Annual rental: £35.80 +VAT

After 1 year there might be a rise but it will only be in line with inflation it will still be the deal price

Thanks for that, so it looks like barnet welding do a better deal in the long run as you can have the bottle as long as you like and when you return it you get £80 back....

I prefer the BOC deal it's 2 mins from my work and its the cheapest gas perl by a long shot

Well I took the plunge and got my 20L argon mix a regulator and a converter.... £164 and get £80 back on the bottle so more than happy....

Barnet welding it was in St. Albans

I called in to Wallsend BOC on Thursday morning, and was quoted standard prices. They did not know about the Volkzone offer.

Emailed Katie on my return and am going to have to wait until next week to talk to her. Her emailed reply says 'unfortunately not all agents are aware of the offer'

I am very new to welding and have just brought my first welder for a project I have.
But just thought I would say I have just been into charlton ,bugsby way branch and they were very helpful and have gave the volkzone deal, they had never herd of it but said now they no they would be very happy for as many people as pos to use there branch and they will keep the offer at there desk for anyone that asks.
Also done me a deal on a two stage reg for £27
Over all very happy with boc and the deal

Just to update. I phoned to switch to this deal today. Katie has moved to another part of BOC, but Gary on the same number, 0161 9306234, was really helpful and in a matter of a minute had my account moved over. He was great and is happy to deal with any queries or issues on this deal.

I should have gone for this deal from the start, but hadn't realised how quickly we would get through the 2l bottles. Now if only it would stop raining I could get on with sorting the car out.
