could anyone point me in right direction of what sort of lighting to have in my new workshop??? been looking but there few options but not sure would like some kinda energy saving lights but is there any industrial type ones about??

I used 5ft enclosed double fluorescent fittings. Same as the ones they use at work.

u have a choice flourescents lowbay highbay or led floodlights sodium or metal halide take your pick

u dont get the strobe efect if u used leading and lagging power factor flouros

it makes no odds on switches as long as there marked with a label 415v its 13 amp sockets thats a problem and should be kept well apart

The only issue is for us as sparks poking around in there and we should know well enough to label up and properly isolate

think might give some led type lights ago i like the color light they give off if that makes sense. as for up setting people with size of my workshop its taken me while to get there lol! just need to fit it out now.fed up with it just coping wanna spend bit of money on it and get it right for the winter .

Found that when 3 offices had been knocked into one, sockets a metre apart on different phases

Why does it matter how close they are if they are on different phases?

It's to reduce risk if say two desk light went faulty same time and someone touched them both. These days with it being normal practice to rcd all sockets it's not so much an issue
