Didn't one of the Fronius adverts show a machine working on its side in puddle?
slight exaggeration but those little machines do take some grief mine has a mystery dent in the side, and is lumped around the truck and survived despite often being ganged up on by the rogue bottles that lurk in the shadows, Iv not yet kicked it in anger, Does it invalidate the warranty?

haha, ours get treated like that, usually at about 9pm on a Friday night when the jobs not finished yet.
Alright, he's a loon, but in the real world, unfortunately stuff does get rough treatment. If welding sets are all shiny with a pretty blanket over them they aint earning their keep.
Sure Lorch could get it taken off U tube if they wanted?

a guy at work came to work one day with loads of big dents on his motor bike, i asked him were they came from, and he said the bike would not start (rd350) so he chucked it on the ground and beat the s**t out of it. hes now dead from suicide.

I know it's just an advert but I hate seeing things like that. Anyone that makes stuff for a living knows the amount of care and work that goes into it, even the electronics gear I work on. Anyone treating equipment with such disrespect deserves a slap.
If I ran a fab shop and someone didn't treat the gear like it was their own offspring, they would be out the door quicksharp.
Speaking of which I was talking to a chap that worked in a machining shop on the lathes, and leaving a chuck key in was grounds for instant dismissal, no matter how good you were!

The European industry standard that it must only survive a fall from 10 Inches!
AFAIK Only Lorch and Fronius garantee theres from higher. Thats not to say that someone elses machine wouldn't survive a bigger fall than 10 inches, but its more down to luck than design if it does.

That was the same when I did my apprentiship, one lad left one in and turned the lathe on, the Chuck key went straight through the side of the partition wall. Could of easily killed someone.

we had i a really bad year of clowns when i served me time in engineering .
1st year basic collage training on millers shapers lathes etc.
accidents incuded.
writing of a colchester student when turning on with screw thread feed engaged tool post straight into chuck.
surface grinder forgot to engage mag chuck off went work piece into some ones back stitches
clamp failure on horizintal mill with slitting disc and to high a speed.
off it went back of some guys head never seen so much blood.hospital.
some w---er spat in pot when casting ali causing servere burns after explosion.
wound vice up on shaper and engaged knocking it clean off.
never see such a bunch of unintrested tossers.
was 28 years ago.
