useful tools to build, if you could, what would you build

i fancy a 5-6ft folder/box pan,deeper swager and maybe an english wheel

One of these. Cannae wack FJ Edwards - used for rolling thin sheet metal - usually for bodywork/coachbuilding. Kin expensive.

Oh - wheels missing off it. usually have wheels running on bearings - you manually roll the sheet back and forward, tightening the rolls as you go, move the sheet from side to side to get the correct curvature - lot of skill needed.

For rolling smooth curves? Yep, I get the idea. Would be good to see it with the wheels though. It looks like that one came out of a workshop and someone didn't know what the wheels were for and binned 'em... So the £800 starting price might be optimistic...

In the works WISMT (where I served my time), one of the machines was a deep throated shear thing - powered rollers that would cut sheet steel. You pulled a bar and it fired up, the rollers would turn and you guided the sheet through. You had to be well on the ball to keep to your line, really easy to f*** up if you were a learner. But well handy tool. No idea what it was called. Must have had a 4' throat, at least.

Got meself a couple of er.. hooky BOC size W empties to exchange tomorrow and off-hire the ones i've got here. In our place it's known as the two bottle shuffle!

Word is, get yersel doon tae the cooncil tip; in the gas bottle dump there's usually a BOC bottle or two. Nab 'em while the workies arenae lookin', then it's the two bottle shuffle for ye!

Can you get bottled refills from BOC if you're not renting a bottle form them?

It works out a bit expensive for me paying an annual bottle rental as I currently use about one CO2 bottle a year...

Nope! You must have an account open with BOC and the bottle must be on hire from them to get refills. - They are expensive - there are others about which are cheaper. Do a search on here, there are loads of threads about gas prices.

There is another way around paying bottle rental.... PM me....
