LWB transits are plated at 3500kg and it applies to them
According to the website, it says over 3.5T - so surely if it is plated at 3500 then Eu3 vehicles are still fine

just need to enter your reg on the lez site... if its a pre 2002 diesel van then very likely it will be affected

Yes that is correct. What is different is that vehicles over 3.5T have to meet Eu4 emissions whereas lighter vehicles only have to meet Eu3 emissions

Yes that is because Mk5 transits were only Eu2 compliant which is why they stopped selling them in 2000 when the Eu3 regulations came into force.
Only Eu3 commercial vehicles 3.5T and under are compliant.
If the commercial vehicle is more than 3.5T GVW or is a bus more than 5T then it has to meet the Eu4 regulations which came into force in 2005

Just checked my van out on the LEZ checker.... its says it isn't subject to the LEZ.
Although, there is a note about the checker not being up to date....seems its only vans 1205kg and up....
Best have a look for the weight.
Small car derived vans should be okay..... transit connects, partners etc must be right on the edge...

As seen by the posts on here the info on the website is at best BADLY written.Its a disgrace been forced to pay more just because of the european Bulls@#t emissions.
In this economic climate there will be a hugh amount of small businesses going to the wall just so we can keep europe happy.

its ok for the government to say we gave you x amount of years notice but in the real world some poor self employed guy will have a perfectly good van he will make just enough to live and keep his van in good order but no way on earth can he afford a used compliant van its rediculas.
stuff brussels the government should have just let time take its course ie the vans will sooner or later end up worn out and scrapped and cause no one hardship

I was told by a classic owner ,that more pollution would be produced,scrapping and re-cycling an old vehicle and the production of a replacement vehicle than running an existing vehicle,regardless of how efficient the engine?.so we should encourage the keeping vehicles longer.......surely people with money don't drive old vans? 
I use a Mk5 transit for work and a Land Rover Discovery for casual use,!!!!!!!Things look bad for me then,Then again i would not want to go in to London.In actual fact i don't know why anyone would want to go into London.????????
