Tracing a bike i used to own

Does anyone know of any way that i can trace the current owner of a bike i used to own ? If it still exists that is,i have looked on the dvla website and it says it was last taxed in 1990,but i'm told that doesn't prove it still exists.I would love to find it and hopefully buy it back

I was told you can only do it if you are needing the info for official reasons don't know if it's true or not mate

Yes it's a Yamaha 50,but it was the first bike i ever owned

Won't be cheap though, they go for 1-2k+ depending on condition

Just had a look at that because I want to find the current owner of a Ducati I once had.
Doesn't look like they will divulge information from AFTER you sold the vehicle to a private individual who was a previous keeper. So that isn't going to help. To obtain full information it would need to be an official organisation with a legitimate need for the info and could prove reason for that need.

Trouble is knowing my luck they would want proof i'm a parking company lol

They would, and all the evidence of the violation. I'm going to write to the DVLA and ask if they could contact the owner on my behalf with a request that they contact me about the Ducati.
