Hi everyone. Im new here, im a mig/tig welder/fabricator for a company that builds televison outside broadcasting vechicles.
I just got a m300 for my hobbyshop for a cheap price but crosslide screw and nuts are well worn subjecting me to 2.5 inches of backlash. I asked Harrsion 600 group for replacements and they wanted £500! So I asked if they had it in EN8 instead of gold but they have not got back to me yet which leads me here.
I can make my own right? I just need to find out what acme thread it is, then purchase the threaded bar and then a suitable tap and some Bronze. simple eh?
notice the wear
here is a close image of the thread
its got a major diameter of 15.8mm
Minor diameter is 13.1mm
(approx)
its left hand thread and single start.
i think as its a full metric machine, it must have a trapezoidal thread right?
well if you guys could help me that would be great.
thanks, tom.
