I had assumed that @Dcal 's intended purpose was to scrape and / or flame iron and steel surfaces flat; not floors. However, I may well be wrong.

I thought i would make a proper signwriting easel. I've been using a bit of scrap plywood with a batten nailed to it. This used a couple of plain steel book shelf brackets bent to the required angle then clamped to the table top. It's a bit bouncy and the clamps occasionally ping off the table.
No construction pics, I got stuck into it yesterday afternoon and finished it in a couple of hours this afternoon.
It's mainly plagiarising existing wooden designs. The size is similar to Joby Carter's aluminium desktop easel, but slightly taller at A4 portrait high, but longer than A2 landscape wide.
Specs for scale.
Top is 9mm birch ply with a bit of dark walnut for the work rest.
The base is birch ply, and all the frame is oak. I used a birch base so I can build a drawer under it later if I wish. Currently it's sat on 4 rubber feet.
The combs used to select the angle is a prototype. Once I've worked out which angles I want I'll make a better pair.
It folds flat with the support within so I'll add a catch to keep it shut.
Needs a couple more coats of Bona Mega floor sealer.

Love it!
Ive been contemplating having a dung out in the garage and making a big galvy one that can hook onto the front of the shelving with adjustable angle base.
Can use magnets to position stuff then.

I’d like to do one of Joby’s week long courses but the course cost, accommodation cost and life prohibits it unfortunately.
So it's more of a karsey than a garage then....

Looks good, similar to what I had but mine was desk based. Sounds like I'm in the same boat as you, I'm not so good at the painting bit and the course costs are putting me off! Its just gone up 45 quid so £795 which is a bit steep for a poor retired Yorkshireman when every pound is a prisoner
. Definitely worth it if your more than an occasional punter, gets rave reviews from everybody whose been on them. My eldest daughter is at Uni in Bristol which isn't far from Joby's place, and she's getting a house with friends next school year, so if I can stay at her place for a few days then I may succumb.Best use a big bucket to ship it out the garage .

Finally got this gate fitted today, it's 3.9m x 1.8m hinged on the left side only, weighs 250kg, deep foundations for this, swings lavely, the scaff boards are
shaded by hand to give the appearance of hardwood.

Brings back memories of my old dad, not many folks had cars back in the 50s but my dad had bought an old esso blue delivery van, all the kids in the street called him the esso blue man

I shaved his tash earlier.
The one sample picture I used for reference had it- didn't think it looked quite right so checked and none others have it.
Dug a drainage ditch for the water and then shovelled the 3" of mud and silt that's collected over the years from road runoff onto the stone path so now friends ride on mower doesn't get stuck when going to the grass dump spot. Got a load of old bricks from garden wall about to collapse to smash up for infill along with a ground protection mat to go ontop.

Nice job, what method are you using to scale the artwork up, from a PC clipart then cut a stencil or paper drawing?
A 2 inch thick polystyrene foam cover is a better way of having a no rot cover , as you do not get mould spores developing / falling in the water of the tank . Does that tank supply the bathroom cold water taps or are they on the incoming rising main ?
