Mrs Rannsachair hated the car tent - not an option.

I was thinking of just using the gazebo when physically working on the car and not in gales. Worst case, its on with the waterproofs in the rain as I do now anyway. Perhaps better than nothing....

the gazebo isnt waterproof i have one never used it for over the car though i used to using a scaffolding sheet over it

let her go under one when its raining it wont last long i bet when she gets drenched within it

this one is plastic and metal sides

Quality exhibition type gazebos are ok, they come with weights etc, and are a way different animal to the link you posted.

Was thinking if a gazebo is easy to put up I only put it up in bad rain when I am working on a car and take it down immediately, even if it means putting it back up whan parts arrive.

Looks the identical result of the little one I had to keep the mini digger in. The green cover had degraded with UV too. The frame is now covered with a canvas tarpaulin.

This is in addition to the gazebo.

What about extending the garage ? Forward or sideways ?

agree with above , make it wide as possible otherwise struggle to get in and out , and longer so your back is covered when working in rain. you need rroom to get shopping out the boot as well..

Could you mount a retractable awning (or caravan awning with a couple of sockets set into the ground for the poles?) above the garage doors to give a sheltered working area? Could rig up a couple of collapsible partitions for the sides too?

These (not suggesting this particular one) type of gazebos are pretty sturdy but you'll still need some way of anchoring them.

what about a extra roof above the shed that you can slide forwards on tracking then push back when not in use just like a big car port as it's welding forum steel framed legs either side of shed into tracking

Thanks everyone, I do like the idea of a pull out awning, though realistically for the amount of use it will get a Gazebo is worth a try when I need it.

Money will be put to better use...
