Please don't use suicide leads. The name says it all.
If you connect a generator to the house mains you have to isolate the house incoming supply from the house wiring. This is to stop some poor person trying to fix the problem getting electrocuted by the back feed onto the supply wiring from the generator. While they take a lot of precautions to ensure the equipment they are working on is dead when they are outside in a gale in heavy rain someone plugging in a generator not isolated from the mains may well be an unpleasant surprise for them.

Same here. I’ve just bought one (a non runner, collecting this weekend) that has 6500W as the model number. Ohh lovely - a 6.5KW genny. Er no try 2.8!
Most household stuff is remarkably tolerant to even quite large voltage & frequency variations.
(Partly due to the stuff being made to work in various markets, but also I suspect due to the fact that the grid is nowhere near as stable - at least voltage-wise - as they'd have you believe).
Digital controllers on washing machines can be fussy & not run through the programme - but the OP's genny isn't man enough for a Washer anyhow.
Lots of people believe that an AVR regulated machine is essential, but as long as your loads & starting transients stay under the capability of the genny, Capacitive sets generally work without issue (under certain conditions arguably better).
I'd have less faith in a Chinese AVR regulated set, than in a Honda unit with a European capacitive regulated Alternator tbh.

We had a big genny fitted with a 6 cylinder Ford diesel engine in its own shed at the top of the garden. Was something like 50 Kva. Seemed to cope OK ! Gone now unfortunately.
Now got a 1.5 Kva Honda, which copes OK and runs everything except the cooker, kettle, and shower *. Freezer is in the cellar, so thats OK for hours, and if we want a drink, we have a camping stove.
Edit. * and the washing machine and tumble drier.

You'd not like the running costs
The cabling & switchgear costs would be eye-watering also.
That V12, plus the 4 cables per Ph - I'm guessing maybe 1200kva - at full load that's going to slurp about 300 Litres of diesel per hour.

Well assuming its still under warranty get it tested on a generator!
That's an inverter mig yes?
Inverters create voltage harmonic distortion, & the smaller the genny as a proportion of the inverter power demand, the more of an issue it can be.
Unless there is info stating its a very clean machine & what genny you can use, then a genny at least twice the rated demand of the welder is a common benchmark minimum.

I was wondering if my washing machine would run on the capacitor regulated Mosa. Far too much electronics in those modern washing machines so I'm a bit hesitant to try.
But in case of a big powercut the washing is of the least concern. The central heating, fridge, and lights are the main thing.
After the lathe and mill that is.
The Mosa is 10KVA three fase 5KVA single fase. If I get a power distribution and balance the loads on the 3 fases as much as possible I should be able to power the whole house was my thinking. Or am I missing something?

A few years back I bought a 3kVA genset which was adequate for running of CH boiler and pump, fridge, freezer (only plugged in when needed as it's a chest freezer, so stays cold a lot longer), PC, telly, lights. Cooking was done on gas.
I missed having the microwave and /or fan oven, so later bought a 6kVA set that will do it all when I need it to.
In the sticks, even though it's a modern distribution network, the incoming Atlantic wind plays merry hell with the wires and trees and there's always a rotten pole or big rotten tree somewhere ready to crash down onto the lines.
People in towns have a weird mindset, brought on by having reliable services they take for granted.

Which is why I have three main emergency supply radials from the genset junction input box. They normally plug into beneath the mains CU, but get manually transferred to the genset box when needed.

The other option is to reconfigure the alternator from 15kva 3ph to dedicated single phase (a one-third debate applies so your limit becomes 10kva, but no phase or imbalance issues).
