The windows 11 thread and constant unsupported messages from windows upgrade have me thinking:
I bought a desktop pc from box in 2018, the spec is:
Stormforce Inferno Desktop Gaming PC, AMD Ryzen 7 1800X 3.6GHz processor, 16GB Hyper X Fury DDR4 2400MHz RAM, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 8GB, 512GB SSD + 3TB WD hard drive, Microsoft Windows 10, 1300Mbps AC WiFi, it has never had a problem. I realise it will be quite dates 7 years on.
I use it for occasional Turbocad, Word, Excel and internet. I also occasionally play games on it: Skyrim, fallout, half life and similar. The grand daughter also plays games on it ( she is 13 shortly).
So what are my options:
1. Get an antivirus software subscription?
2. Install windows 11 using one of the bypass methods if I can figure it out? I used to be good with DOS or Windows 3.1, after XP i never took an interest.
3. Upgrade the processor?
4. Upgrade the motherboard and processor etc.
5. Just buy a new PC
I used to assemble and upgrade my own pc's from the late 80's through to the early 2000's. though only upgraded hard drives and added memory since then.
What do folk think is the sensible option? bar I should have waited until 2019 for my last upgrade?
Thanks
