Looking for a 6" rule

Specifically one very similar, if not same, as this one.



It's quite slim, & has no faffy imperial measurements, just simple ⅛", ¼" etc. It's unmarked regarding maker. Quite stiff but still flexible.

I've had that one knocking on 40 year now, & no other has ever come close to me liking it as much, branded or not.

So, if anyone knows of a very similar, if not same, one to that, which is still available, I'm all ears. Cheers.

The rear just has a conversion chart on it, no scales.

Arc euro trade had some very cheap ones with a conversion scale on? 80 odd pence, but I don’t know if they are anything like those? Postage would probably kill the deal mind you, unless you were getting other stuff from there as well??

Duratool D00245 6" looks pretty close. Can't find any views of the obverse face, but the fractional markings are the same.

When someone mentions good old measuring equipment, I instantly think Rabone/Chesterman. They made loads of different styles, too.

In our design office, engineering works etc - a rule is an engineering rule, a ruler is plastic and from WHSmiths . . . we disagree on "tape-rule" or "tape". Especially if you take a random selection of tapes and put them so they all are aligned with one straight edge . . . I don't I've yet seen two agree within even a couple of inches.

il stick with my satin chrome starret and moore and wright 6 inch metric imperial steel rule along with the 12 inch one i dont buy shi.te with measuring gear and most tools

I haven't lost it. It's just that I'm wanting several more so that I can put them where I need them. That one stays with my workbench generally, but I'm finding I'm moving it around with me more & more, because any other rules I have just aren't as easy or clear to work with.

I always try to aim for the old name brands, but Rabone's, Brown & Sharpe's & such, none of them seem to be as instinctive to use, if that makes sense.
