As a prolific "starter" of projects, particularly the 3D adapters, I'm now overwhelmed. My desk space where I do all my cad is well, overflowing! My main pc is the black one on the left, the big, silver bitsa, my Linux machine that tbh I barely use. This is in our study. SWMBO's desk and pc to the left, my lad's to the right. A third of my desk is given over to his printer.

I can't even get my feet under the desk!

I've half heartedly tried using old dishwasher tablet containers to store adapter projects.

Can't help thinking some big 'ish linbins would work with an adapter project per bin.

Maybe remake that desk support to the left as front facing shelves for linbins?

I feel your pain - my garage and office (spare bedroom) are all in a similar state.

I am impressed by how tidy it is.

From memory my "office" has three desks in it, I can's see any of them. There is a floor but it is piled high with books and stuff so it is almost impossible to get to the stuff on the desks. Sorting it out is on my list but that increases in length every day with more urgent things to do.

I need a skip.

Hmm, I'm not stay anything....

The crates contain, machine tooling yet to make into the workshop, my cnc plasma table build parts, 3D printed brackets and control system, and to many other bits n bobs to even list, some of which will be "Oh that's where it is" or a "I don't remember buying that" moment......

Plus the general desk crap......

Thats all tidy compared to my mess. When younger I horded a lot of "that will be usefull" dead tools and parts, all needs to be sorted and thrown.


@Onoff next project for you is some XGT adaptors?

Turn the main PC on it's side and stick the others or printer on top !

Have you room for a filing cabinet? They are great for storing stuff and you can stack up lin bins in the drawers.

I was diagnosed with bowel cancer 4 years ago, I went through 2 operations in 2 years related to it.

Then for me, followed another 2 major operations in the past 6 months for other things.

Cancer can be hell for all, just remember to bite your lip at times and be understanding.

Something you will be glad of, is that home shop for something to do and take your mind off things...

my computer is under a worktop

first off big pc under the unit

then the next computer as im the naughty one with 2 pcs which i have both connected to a screen that i can switch to either machine via the tvs hdmi, the pcs hdmi and the gcard white plug allow you to do this or even fit a hdmi switcher unit the gcard white plug can be upgraded to a hdmi port on the same wire so that means both pc connect via the hdmi socket

printer can be fitted on a homemade table and sited above that means storage under the printer

the screen can be also jacked up and you also have storage under that as well

Honestly for me has been shocking because my dad needed 6 blood transfusions to get values back as he had hemoglobin levels below 5 instead of 13ish.
He has rectum cancer everything else is fine, it apparently stopped over there but there are metastasis so it's pretty bad but not impossible to heal they said.
And I hope he will.
Anyways I don't want make castles in my head with fairies and unicorns playing around.
It's pretty hard for me to keep a positive mood about but I'm trying for him, my mom, my sister and my brother.
Sometimes I need to escape as you said but I end up sitting on the chair doing nothing.
I'm pretty scared I don't want to lie.

I reorganised my workshop last year, got rid of all the extraneous junk that was in the way, made new benches, and worked to the "a place for everything and everything in its' place" theory. Since then it's been a much more productive place to work and is a joy to be in.

I have no sympathy at all for people who live in a midden then complain about not achieving anything...
