I need to pick up some 6013 2.5mm rods whilst I’m in the UK, local stockist has stopped doing Bohler and is offering Euro Trod as a replacement- has anyone any experience of these?

it's been 5 years since I left France but I bought Oerlikon rods in Brico Depo and Espace Emeroud....
Both national companies......
It's my prefered rod n luckily the only make available here as well......

We’ve got neither of those near us, and my steel merchant only has GYS in packs of 10!

Eurotrod are ok but not special. Here in Portugal they are the most common rod you'll find. Very nice welding with Bohler in comparison, though that may have largely been because I used the Bohler on mains rather than genny and they were 3.2 rather than 2 or 2.5mm

Are you set on 6013?
I've got plenty of vac-pacs Lincoln and Bohler rods, but they're all basic. Postage from the Netherlands to France isn't very expensive and I got the rods very cheap at an auction.

Surprisingly not, and I’m in the UK at the moment so thought I’d get them now.

couldnt you try esab as they are swedish may be cheaper than bohler. also gys arent to bad of a make just a shame the packs are so small so feel like your being bumped on the price when you buy a load

wasn't aware they were French lol, only used them in the past as they sell 1.6mm rods only place in UK I can find rods that small is screw fix

I was lucky to buy a large box full of 1.6's off someone on here, I'm sure they will keep but I have hardely touched them. A lifetime supply!

Generally this forum is the best place to get rods as, buying small quantity is expensive, and somone will have 5kg box, never to be finished.
