Disposing of old petrol?

I have about 6L of old, smelly petrol from 2022-2023 which has turned orange. I imagine it would still burn but not really suitable to go in an engine or anything of value. I have added water and seperated it off, so in theory, also removing any ethanol content. The colour remained orange.

I dont often burn stuff. How best to dispose of it? I dont really want to keep it in garage over summer once the weather warms up.

@The_Yellow_Ardvark I am wondering if a petrol style blow torch would be suitable, I imagine they can burn any quality of fuel?

Pour it in a local pothole and then stick some gravel in there. Tarmac melts then resets

Local house hold recycling centre? Add to the brunt oil hopper

Offer it to your local fire station for use in their practice burns (assuming that sort of thing happens)

Unlikely nowadays, when I worked at my local airport they had a 'live' fire training ground and local county brigades came in to use it because they didn't have their own.

I did a bit of fire training at Kidlington airfield in the 80's, they had a fire extinguisher (suitably marked) full of petrol to get the fire going again after we had put it out.

They demonstrated the use of foam to finish the night off.

I have a bottle of diesel for that. I dont think stale orange petrol would be much good for cleaning.

Diesel gets mixed in too. Seems to do alright

Wrong type of fuel.
I would either burn it off or to the "Correct" thing and take it to the recycling centre

I put old fuel in my quad bike, gets mixed with the fresh fuel in the tank. Runs fine

Old 'rat pish' petrol was our weapon of choice for cleaning engines, gearboxes, or any other dirty grimy components, bit of a waste to torch it

The issue with bonfires, a large amount can quickly evaporate into a cloud of explosive mixture. The result can be an explosion rather than a contolled burn, needs a bit of care!

i allway keep a bit of old petrol 2 stroke gone off neat fuel for washing carbs and stuff

I have a waste petrol can for that sort of stuff and it gets used for cleaning stuff then gets dumped into the waste oil drum. When its full it gets tipped into the waste oil tank at the recycling centre.
