I am from NI and some 15 - 20 years ago we used to have weekend driving holidays to Scotland or England once or twice a year.
Or if I seen rare Mercedes parts that the seller wouldn't pack or palletise I would have got the ferry over and collected myself. (For example w124 Mercedes Sportline leather seats was one item I drove to collect and well worth the effort as super rare colour and only £150)
From memory it was around £150 - £190 for return car ticket wirh 2x passengers and no cabin.
But now the prices are just ridiculous at around £200+ each way depending when you look. Granted I don't look too often but I seen a tool cabinet I could have collected but the Ferry for next weekend coming up at £400 odd for return ticket so no good at all.
Just a shame that the prices are now so prohibitive or is there a better / cheaper way to get the tickets(?)
