are they converted propane cylinders? if so how do you fill them from the compressor
Yeah 2x 47kg propane, basically 8mm pig tails connected through 2x T-pieces onto the airline running to both compressor and regulator, nothing complicated at all.
Keeping the original valve on each tank, it would be restrictive if you only had the one but both tanks combined, especially with compressor tank you have very good flow into the regulator.
The system is around 240 litre total, (the compressor tank is about 50 litre) compressor pump is sherry of london cast iron twin with a brook compton motor giving about 12cfm. Despite being about 20 years old (i believe) the compressor has been hardly used.

I should work out what I would need and get some prices. Good to know that you reckon it worked out cheaper (not counting labour of course
