I'm in Italy they can get only higher over hereHave any of you guys let you insurance run out and got a lower price to start it again ?
We fell out with LV many years ago after Mrs Robo's car was hit by an uninsured driver, assessor came out and couple of days later she got a letter with a cheque and notes about having it ready for collection. I told them to get stuffed, bought it back as a write off and fixed it for a couple of hundred quid. Never had any dealings with them since.Last weekend I had my new quote from LV for the Mondeo, due mid January, it’s gone down £50 from last years big hike.
This morning I got my house insurance quote, from LV, gone up £75 to £318 for a little two bed bungalow.
I was going to simply renew with LV, but not now, this is really extracting the urine.![]()
Do you bother to negotiate with them? I pay £350 for a 3 bed semi with separate garage/ workshop all properly covered. I always get £30/40 off with some bargaining.Last weekend I had my new quote from LV for the Mondeo, due mid January, it’s gone down £50 from last years big hike.

Yes. I let the Surf insurance run out in January as it was off the road for a month or two, then they tried to shaft me with an increase so it stayed off the road a bit longer and when I finally got round to insuring it the price had dropped on last year's premiumHave any of you guys let you insurance run out and got a lower price to start it again ?
I found this to be true. The gurus suggest 21 days before renewal is best time for a quote, as it demonstrates your organised!
they clearly know that enough mugs will auto renew to make it worthwhile.
Car based and driver based in Italy.Another thing to love about Spain. I've just paid €297 for a year on an Audi A6 Allroad. That's for any driver over 28. The strange bit is that none of the policies cover me to drive other cars, the policies are all car based, not driver based.
Makes sense to meCar based and driver based in Italy.
Essentially they analyze the person and Upon the vehicle they make the price.
Insurance cover the driver while driving the vehicle.
I have two car
I need two insurances.
I cannot drive my other car with the insurance of my Punto for example.
Same car different person different price
Insurance is related to the vehicle but the price is based upon the driver too
I don't think I've explained so we'll the thing
We just got 6 months tax for ours to spread tax / MOT.Annoyingly I bought my car at the start of January, so both road tax and car insurance are due at this "special" time of year. Last year I switched from Direct Line to Sainsburys because DL wouldn't negotiate the price (they had done every year, prior to that, but it was just "no" last year). This year my renewal with Sainsburys is £7 more than last year, so I'm not even going to phone them up to argue about it in case it's a mistake.
