Xtool D1 pro 20w - thoughts

Hi all,
Thinking of getting the Xtool D1 with rotary attachment etc. the full kit is down to £1100 which is pricey but seems a good bit of kit.
Has anyone first hand experience of one?
I currently run the vevor 15w but it is temperamental so want an upgrade.
Any other models in the same price range?
Not creality as I have three of their printers and they have all failed.

It now comes with the enclosure and risers.
It is top of my list unless someone gives me an alternative

I have the 10w, no rotary or enclosure. Has been flawless for me, the only issue was out of the box one of the home switches was positioned wrong and it would hit a hard stop when homing but was easily fixed.

I have two atom stacks. The 40 watt appears to be cutting at half power. But I have no way of knowing.
I would like a fibre laser but still too speedy for me, so I will be looking at a 40 watt X tool unless my father in law drops down dead.

Strangely they are one of the more reliable usually.
I got the 40 watt second hand so no idea if it ever had a full cutting laser.

I do hear good things about x tool.

No trouble so far anyway.

I made a base to raise mine up so I could fit a lab jack under and I am thus able to raise and lower the base plate. The reason I did that is I have an Atomstack camera and I found it very accurate once I had it calibrated but when I raised the laser for thicker parts then I found the camera was off. I was initially going to calibrate the camera multiple times for different thicknesses and save the profiles and load the required one. I however thought it better to leave the laser head fixed and raise/lower the part and it works very well that way without having to load profiles as the surface is always the same distance from the camera.

That sounds like a superb idea. I have a camera on my vevor unit but it's a bit rubbish. I will look into getting an Atomshack one. I understand lightburn uses it. The Xtool software can also use a camera but I don't know if it has to be theirs?

I use Lightburn, the X-Tool software never had camera capability when I used it but it may well now, they certainly seem to be constantly updating/upgrading their software.

Well since I am feeling a bit down I have put off buying the D1. I have decided to wait and sell a bit more stuff and get the S1 instead.
It's £1900 but fully enclosed and comes with all the accessories at that price.

Yes the 20w, I mainly want to engrave and have heard the 40w doesn't have the clarity.

That's strange.
I was thinking (wondering) if a lower powered laser was better for engraving due to dot size..

Not sure if the X-Tools do it but I know a lot of 40w lasers can be turned down, via a switch, to 20w for engraving.

If you want a cheap basic 20W then I suggest the Elegoo Phecda. I bought one and it is fantastic. Pretty fast delivery and cheap.
Around £350!!!

I have a Saturn 4 ultra on pre order so agree with the brand but that is not a fully enclosed laser which is what I have decided I really want.
What can I say, I am fickle!
