could someone 3d print me (or any other method) some switch inserts?

can anyone make me some rocker switch label inserts?
a little round translucent plastic disk that is blacked out in such a way as to make a logo such as...


i need a lightbar one and a air horn one both with a strike through them to indicate the switch disables them.

Given the size of your typical rocker switch, your typical 3D printer won't have the accuracy to do that.

granted it is small, only approx 15mm across (from memory) but if anyone has any better suggestions im all ears.

having thought about this i wonder if it could be done in cnc? get some green translucent plastic, spray it black on one side, then cnc the icon out of the paint.

It could possibly be done with paint and a laser, however it might need some experimenting.

I would think it would be possible to cut/engrave what you want with this sort of stuff.

about 3mm thick 15mm dia, roughly. but i would get accurate measurements if someone can do it.

You'd be able to do that on a resin printer and then backfill. Is it designed to be backlit?

im no graphics designer, or cad draw'er, i wouldn't know where to start. i was hoping someone could do the lot, id be willing to pay of course.

Yea I think most printers would struggle without a 0.15mm nozzle and a lot of tuning for those at that size. Resin printing might be an option in 2 pieces bonded together.

I was thinking something like this and fill with either clear resin (if your backlighting is permanent and you don't want the symbol visible in ambient light) or translucent white resin if you do want it visible in ambient light...

Could maybe invert the symbol so it's sitting proud at the back, print in clear resin and infill the back.
I have a resin printer and some clear resin, is horrible stinking stuff but if someone can make the STL I wouldn't mind trying. So long as there is an oil pressure, temp warning and battery warning symbol in the mix

Alternatively I could print as your drawing in black and try cure clear in the back as suggested, not sure on shrinkage rates though

before anyone starts making .stl files etc i would wait until i have the insert in my hand as I've never taken one of those switches apart and have made a few assumptions of the design of the insert.

however the assistance and offers of help are deeply appreciated and one of the reasons i like this place so much

so the diameter of the hole is 10.5mm
thickness is not totally critical but standard is 2mm
and it will need to be inset so it will need to be about 1mm larger in total diameter so the total diameter will be about 11mm, with the inset depth of .9-1mm
