I doubt he is a spring chicken any more, he set the first record 20 or so years ago, and that was after finished a career in the RAF

Times really have changed, land speed records set in the last century will always be far more interesting, at least to me, than anything today no matter what speed is reached.

At least it’s a hybrid, probably ULEZ compliant as well, so it can be used as a daily commute vehicle as welll.

I had a brief chat with him in the officer's mess at RAF Akrotiri one evening years ago when he was still in the RAF. Seemed a very pleasant character.
