Anyone used it?*

Looking to move to a very rural location, no phone signal and the neighbour told me the internet is 5mbs on a good day

I need fast internet for work, they will pay the setup cost so not concerned about that

My friend has it in Spain. Very good indeed. Easily as fast as my 80mb broadband at home, VPN to the office works seamlessly.

It’s what I will put in when we get there. Rural broadband in Spain is wireless to the nearest beacon and never gets above 30mb at best.

We currently have 900mb, but I'm sure other than the kids downloading Fortnite updates we barely utilise it!

If it's 80mb that will be fine, much slower than we have now but I doubt we fully utilise the 900mb connection

My neighbour has it. Really rates it. We're pretty rural, at the end of copper lines, bottom of a valley. Cell phone, TV reception, internet all rubbish.

the quality of a starlink connection is entirely down to how good at his job the guy that installs it is. get the aim right and it rigidly mounted, and its great. get it 2* out, it will be slow and intermittent, if it works at all.

There is £450 charge for the kit, looks like I will need a bracket to mount it on the gable. Will end up with the modem in the lads room and I will run ethernet to a central access point and to the garden office

Theres a verygood group on facebook, when issues etc come up. Our neighbour uses it, get 150mb down about 20 up.

Once my 4g sim contact is up, we will be changing from the amplifying LTE Ariel with built in sim to star link

Better than 2 degree pointing accuracy might be true for geostationary satellite-based internet, but the Starlink constellation is maintained at the high end of Low Earth Orbit, so the satellites are continuously moving and need to be tracked using a phased array motorised receive antenna. The antenna just needs to be angled upwards, and be inclined with the face oriented towards the south, with as clear a sky view as possible.

Thats a lot less than I pay for BT broadband with a phone line and a load of old tosh tv I have never watched.

right now we have 24meg and it's a good day.......!!!!!!
we have 2 different suppliers/systems so we always get some kinda service.......it\s over 100euro's per month.....
gonna look into starlink.....thanks guys......

Just remember you need to order the ethernet adapter separately as it doesn't come with the router.
