Didnt put on enough Panel adhesive ...PLEASE HELP

Good Evening,

I attempted to bond this patch on using dominion sure seal small panel adhesive:

However, I didn't cover the entire patch with the adhesive:

This part still had quite a gap on it, and a few small areas underneath ( I couldn't take a pic since the flash on my phone is wonky ).

So what should I do?

option a) Should I take a putty knife and squeeze some adhesive in the cracks

or Option b)

Take the whole thing off and sand off the adhesive and then redo it and put more screws in the corner?

To make issues worse, it started to rain heavily about nine hours after installed the patch.

What would you do?

You want to put on a bead, spread it out over the entire area, on both surfaces, then lay a larger bead on both surfaces. Place together in parallel without scraping the two together. You ideally want to "drop" one ontop the other in a perpendicular fashion if that makes sense. Helps the squeeze out effect to fill entirely without pushing the adhesive.

I sandblasted the patch, a few hours prior to bonding it, would it be necessary to sandblast it again?

why not ,, I wonder if its classed as structural , lots of cars are bonded together especially round rear arches .

Yes, when designed that way. Clearly I have no idea how Canadian inspections work but surely like our agencies, they expect repairs to be at least to the original standard. It would definitely fail an MOT here because it appears to be structural.

there was a diagram posted here a while ago of what the mot boys classed as structural ,,, be worth a look ,, old citroen repair sections were bonded on as a factory approved repair procedure ,,

Its relatively easy, just think of it as red hot molten silicone sealant

does look like now would be a good time to learn

as for the glue , use more but roar a few more screws through both panels to pinch them together , can grind the points off when dry
