Does anyone have any experience with a similar situation?
I'm on good terms with this neighbour. She knows the cats have caused damage in our garden and she knows we have a BB gun. She asked me if I could have accidentally shot the cat or a ricochet could have caused it. I told her that our BB gun is a very low powered "Daisy" and hasn't been used recently. It seems like she believes me. This morning I text her that she should report it to the Police and not worry about any impact it has on me. She thanked me, but I still feel uneasy. She has an elderly mother who loves the cats and lets say isn't the world's most smart thinker, and in her head there's probably only one conclusion to who did it.
The cat's OK. There's no bone damage, but a nasty wound about 10mm across.
Half expecting the police to come knocking. I have CCTV in the garden, I'm going to save the last few days footage just in case, but it's not a continious feed, it just records when there's motion.
