So I've got this motor in my box of might be useful someday things, but I've no idea what exactly it is. It looks like a stepper motor but I also see that it has a MAC address (WiFi addressable?). Curiously there are no visible connectors but I'm sure that would become clear if I opened it up. I've googled the codes and I'm still none the wiser. Can someone enlighten me? Thanks.

Unfortunately one of those things that has a specific application where you need the driver integral to the motor.

If you want to offload it I could probably use it, I work for Schneider and have loads of plc’s around. Be quite interesting to have a play with, I’ve never actually used one of those.
Well it's quite clear I won't be using it. I don't think it's worth £1000 to anyone untested. I've no idea what it's worth really.

You open the cover on the back which has a number of connections and the ethernet port

So as an add on to this - this came up as a recommendation on ebay (I’ve bought and sold a few bits of automation gear on there….) so seeing as I have the software and means to drive it I stuck a cheeky bid on it! 
I hooked it up to a chunky 14a 24v supply I have kicking around (It can run off 24-48 volts) and hooked up the configuration software to it. It’s a funky little thing, it’s got an internal absolute encoder and you can do positional control, velocity, motion, homing etc with it. I haven’t got it running via Modbus yet as I needed to order a couple of connectors to fit that properly but it runs perfectly using the commissioning software.
I’m thinking it *might* be man enough to replace the table feed motor on my mill (currently running off a small vfd) - I have a hmi fitted which can communicate via Modbus (that’s what’s sending the signals to my vfds rather than push buttons) - so it might make it possible to “semi - CNC” the machine, or at least the table feed. I could drive to repeatable end position, have a homing feature etc. It may not be man enough yet as it’s quite a small motor but the thing in my favour is that it’s high speed and the table can be geared down (the original fixed speed motor was able to drive the table at various speeds by swapping change wheels).
I’ll need to do a bit of measuring to see if it will physically fit, as well as the torque requirement.
I’ll see if I can chuck a vid up about using the software and set up.

That answered my original question when I saw the original post. Seemed potentially dangerous to leave a stepper motor to the vagaries, lack-of-precision and non-guaranteed delivery / time-of-delivery of TCP/IP!
