In most cases you're better off getting the genuine pipes, they're surprisingly cheap and correctly formed - for example L322 L/H front to rear is ~£30 inc vat retail.Good thread I'm after a tool as well I'm going to have a couple of pipes to do on the range rover in the summer .......![]()

yep L322.Your profile pic looks like a L322, they're definitely available - I fitted some genuine ones last month. Better to get from a local dealer as they're not particularly carrier-proof, the parts cages protect them (mostly) well enough and if they're damaged, you obviously don't have to accept them rather than mess about with a distance seller....

Rare in UK indeed! there were a lot of them bought by the FCO and used as dip. vehicles & escorts - somehow the manual 'box was felt to be more rugged and therefore suited to foreign climes... I'm not sure those are the correct wheels for the year though - maybe it's the colour that makes them stand out to me?.ohh topic derail

Very nice! - the wheels do look, 'strange'... I've got an 08MY TDV8 3.6 with L405 20" wheels, they fill the arch much better than the standard 19" IMOyep L322.
the two fronts were advisorys last mot it's just a short bit to the start of the flexi

The silly 22" went made drive like a turd it's on original supercharged alloys now .
I bought mine as a trade-in with lots of issues, it had basically been neglected for several years. Admittedly I'm in a good position to bring it back to life (trade parts & free labour) but it hasn't been excessively expensive HP fuel pump, front suspension arms, struts, rear dampers, inlet manifolds plus transmission flush & all other fluids - all of which I knew about before I bought it with ~150k on the clock, a few other smaller issues (TPMS, climate seats, FBH glow plug) and a replacement upper tailgate due to corrosion, I've spent £1800 on parts - but it's now just servicing & maintenance, oh, and the rear wheelarches, obviously!I wouln't dream of itI think the motor makes the car what it is and I do my best to keep on top it . its starting to show it's age a bit now

This type simply worksThe cheap ebay ones like this will put an end on metal pipes no problem. Rather than wrecking the threads trying to over tighten it, stick a pair of vice grips on at each end to help clamp it where I've marked,View attachment 395962 No problem at all.
I never seen a tool yet that wouldn't put an end on a metal brake pipe. If it slips just put a wee smear of fine grinding paste in the track and it'll definitely never move.
