Hey all I'm new!
I have been restoring an old mini for some time and think I may have made a grave error!
The mini went to a restorers to be worked on, they took the shell back to bare metal and thats as far as it went because they got busy with other work....
I got the car back home and found a few more bits of welding to be finished but not an issue...
I had bought phosphoric acid 85% concentrate and been applying it to rusty patches, wire brushing etc to help it along then leaving it to dry....
I now have dried acid in all the seams, panel gaps, screen seams etc where I can't get to to clean off, I was told to let it dry and paint on top but now realise it should be washed off and neutralized? Have I killed any chance of painting this car?
The acid used isn't a car product its just a nearly pure phosphoric acid used to lower ph levels in soil of plants, I figured getting the strongest possible would be the best idea, I know I was wrong now
Thanks for reading guys!!
