Greenhouse Restoration

About 10 years ago I built a timber frame greenhouse, clad in plastic sheet and covered with a corrugated clear roof.

For the last 3 or 4 years it’s not been used and quite neglected and very heavily overgrown

With the chillies doing well it’s time to get it sorted and operational.

But first I needed to get to it

This is what I started with

Cleared up the patio section

Then found the pathway

I will clear the ivy and see what shape the greenhouse is in

Ah ha - your council uses the same bin supplier . . . and the same lifting support on the back of the bin lorry, part way up the bin, flexing the do-dar out of the bin . . . and it's still your fault when the bin splits and it's you who pays for the new one . . .

I found a brick pathway which gave me access to the inside

One side cleared, timber on this side is in good condition, let’s hope it’s the same on the other side

I’m making good progress

It’s had 4 coats of wood preservative then 4 coats of sadolin

The fence on the RHS will be comming out so I can drag the greenhouse out for the renovation.

I’ve got a couple of tubs of fence treatment, it will all be rejuvenated

Ive threatened to rotavate the fenced off area of the horses paddock so I can grow and sell turnips

im looking at your sunlight just so you know what time has that pic been taken ?

if its at the right time would you consider turning the greenhouse and making it much better ?

as what you have there is kinda blocked in by the fences

is there any reason why its like that ?

It will be better placed else where, but this is where I want it to live, it’s quite good when doing it’s thing
