I currently have a 18v 4ah drill and I've had it a few years and it has never let me down.
it get used regularly. I always keep one spare battery fully charge.
the body wont be Makita but a Chinese copy.(it seem most tools are made in China anyway.)
was thinking of getting a brushless one anyway but not for the reason that you guys says.
just to try it out but now that you've all mention brushless is better.
I wont be using the grinder a lot just now and then.
not sure on batteries though. so called genuine till you start to read the listing only to find its not genuine.
