Hi,
Looking at trying to make a miniature dozer and looking at inspiration for the drivetrain, I am toying with the idea of using a hydraulic marine gearbox for the forward/neutral/reverse which would be connected to an axle with differential and if needed further reduce through chains and sprockets to drive the tracks, my question is would a marine gearbox be suitable for this type of use as obviously tracks on the ground have no give compared to a propellor in the water, I would also only be using a small 20hp motor, I am also open to other suggestions for example other types of gearbox, shuttle drivetrain, I think some forage harvesters had forward/reverse mechanism for the feedrollers but I am not sure, I also could use belts but this means sourcing a lot of pulleys and bearings and the likes!
If anyone has got any ideas or options any information would be very much appreciated!
Kind regards,
Kevan.
