The view from my Bike

We have all seen pictures of others work and the view from the office, pictures of motorway mayhem and shots of bad drivers, I thought, for a change we could have some nice interesting pics from people cycling about. I am a recent convert to the cycling thing but my good lady asked me this morning "if you are going to work on your bike". I wasn't planning on it until she mentioned it then it was out with the bike and off I go. These are the canal views on the way back, because I am on the bike I choose not to travel on the main roads but by the far more interesting canal towpaths and along the riverbank. Much more civilised:



The Canal and River Trust around here do great work.

Not strictly from the saddle, but one from my run in to work one day last week. My phone doesn't do it justice but the early morning sun through the long grass looked magical.

And one from the saddle on the last bank holiday, from the top of the Devils Elbow in the Brecons.

I've been cycling to work for the last 18 months. Great way to lose a few calories and the rarity of Reeeealy wet days makes it bearable. Poor old Morris Minor hasn't run in all that time so it'll probably end up being chopped.

It seems to be uphill and into-wind regardless of whether I'm heading in-to or home-from work.

great days out....
a nice hamper n bottle of wine.....oh happy days n great memories...

Looking on the forth and grangemouth refinery, met a mate and lost track of time the cycle home got a bit dark

Next one after just coming off Kincardine bridge looking at the forth from the opposite direction as the first

This was something I kept seeing, eventually I asked a font of all knowledge[all useless knowledge] what it is.
It's a coal tax post. It worked soemthing like you had to pay tax to the city of london if you took coal over the
line/border, marked by coal tax posts, into London. They clearly stretched the border of London a little bit,
that post is on Reigate Hill.
I will have to find a find a list of them and go and visit them.
