lads im making a girder bumper for the craic

I shaved off two sections of flange, and there are further operations to be carried out, ill try make it look innocent.

each cut took about an hour with the 9 inch grinder

will continue to shape it, and then ill pour a fcuk ton of heat into it, will be good, will enjoy it.

bought a toyota previa off a mate when the 4 kids were little, kids and me loved it, massive inside, mrs hated it so let it go, she got a low speed shunt at a stop, the modeo that rear-ended our previa was written off. dropped the plastic off the bumper to touch it up and check behind, it was basically an RSJ crack on Ned you nut job

Don't forget to put end caps on for the MOT, (sharp edges).

there are scumbags on our roads. and this girder is for them. I have a front bumper too, it started life as this piece of angle iron I came across, covered in concrete

and then i cut it and shaped it etc

and now it looks like this

no help to op but....

helped my dad put a tail lift on a Talbot express van when I was a kid, had to take the bumper off to get clearance for the tail lift to fold out

failed it's MOT for nu bumper

we made a new bumper... by pop riveting an old bit of plastic gutter along body where the bumper wold have mounted.... plastic so thin the real bumper would have gone on over it

MOT man argued... but my dad won the argument... it it stayed like that and passed MOTs for years after just the same

I'm in Ireland, we have an NCT (national car test) - much the same. My front bumper passed the last NCT, they didn't even mention it.

i use my towbar for that . stop when you hear the bang its seen a few peoples bumpers off in carparks that cant drive properly

A guy on a P38 forum, Ewen, made this bumper and you can see he made inserts that slide into the chassis,
that also reinforce the chassis, was thinking of doing similar, will make my bumpercar stronger
