I thangyou. I'm here all week.![]()
A young bloke turned up to visit next door in an Audi RS7. I'd guess £40 -£50k? It's covered in what is presumably a wrap, and it's suede. My wife saw it and used that slightly hushed questioning tone which is normally reserved for when I've done/said something that's exceeded social norms by some significant measure, "Is that? Is that car covered in suede?"
No accounting for taste I suppose.

When I lived in the Philippines there was an American diplomat guy living down the end of the street. He had a Porsche turbo wrapped in satin blue carbon fibre finish, and a Ford Explorer wrapped in some sort of matt cloth finish, maybe not suede but it looked very unlike paint or vinyl. Of all the colours to have on a car, when average outside temp was 35c most days of the year.A young bloke turned up to visit next door in an Audi RS7. I'd guess £40 -£50k? A lot of people put wraps on to sell as they hide poor paintNot my style but weve all done dubious things to cars in our youf
Ive often wondered how easy it is to get off? perhaps if it comes off ok its a good paint protector?
Rally cars use flocking on the dash to reduce glare it’s half powder coat technology and looks great when done by a pro the eBay kits are awfulIn the late 60s there was a similar product called Velvotex IIRC? Used an electrostatic charge to make the stuff stand up , there was a Lotus Europa done with it in the Cambridge area at the time
